The Forsyth County Animal Shelter, in cooperation with the Friends of the Shelter has embarked on a series of exciting new opportunities for volunteers to have more access to adoptable pets (and for the adoptable pets to have more access to the volunteers and prospective adopters!)
The first phase of the Community Care Program is the beginning of the Foster a Shelter Dog for a Day program. Through this program, volunteers may go to the Shelter, select a dog, fill out a small amount of paperwork (basically who you are, what dog you are taking, and when you'll be back) and take the dog off-site for an hour, an afternoon, or even overnight! Live in an apartment, but still want to run and play with a friendly dog? Come pick out a dog, dress it up in an "Adopt Me" vest, and go have some fun!
Friends of the Shelter volunteers are shown here preparing to take dogs out for the day.

Walk your furry friend in the park or at community events. Look for the special "Adopt Me" vests that the dogs will be wearing. The exciting new Community Care Program will be fun for you and your canine pal PLUS you just might help your homeless pup find a new home. Join us! Contact Friends of the Shelter to sign up for the next orientation.
We appreciate your help! Without volunteers, FOS would literally not exist!
